Dominica Dive Trip with Rise & Dive℠
February 13–20, 2027 (Women Only)
February 20–27, 2027 (Open to All Divers)

The Dominica trip is built around intentional diving.
A purposely small group. Unhurried pace. A destination chosen because it delivers something the polished Caribbean dive industry does not: diving that feels genuinely wild and experiences that stay with you long after you surface.
This Rise & Dive℠ trip destination runs two back-to-back weeks here in February 2027. Week 1 is designed for women only. Week 2 is open to all divers, including their partners. Both weeks offer the same complete, fully arranged package where everything is arranged and handled.

Why Dominica. Why February. Why Rise & Dive℠
Nicole chose Dominica because it is unlike any other dive destination.
Most Caribbean dive destinations are reef systems under pressure, working to recover from decades of warming water and heavy traffic. Dominica’s marine environment is different. The island’s volcanic geology means the underwater topography mirrors the land above it: steep walls, rising pinnacles, fumaroles where warm water pushes up through volcanic sand, and macro life that exists here because the geological conditions that sustain it exist nowhere else in the region.
The diving is not polished or predictable; the underwater ecosystems are constantly changing, and that’s a huge part of the draw.
This trip is scheduled for February because Dominica sits in one of the few places in the Atlantic where sperm whales are resident year-round, and February brings humpback whales into these waters during migration. Whale watching is purposefully built into this trip so you can dive while also experiencing the sightings and sounds of these incredible marine mammals.
The land excursion to Trafalgar Falls and Titou Gorge is also on the itinerary because Dominica earns its name as the Nature Isle of the Caribbean. The gorge is a narrow volcanic canyon with warm water, green-clad walls, and a stillness that belongs to the island. Leaving without going into it would be leaving something behind.

What’s the Diving Like in Dominica
Most dives in Dominica are defined by their geological formations rather than their reef structure.
The underwater topography here includes volcanic pinnacles pushing up from the seafloor, walls dropping to serious depth, underwater hot springs, and lava formations. The macro life here is dense. Frogfish, seahorses, and nudibranchs reward divers who move slowly and look carefully. Turtles are regular, and dolphins often pass through. Sperm whales are year-round residents, and though they are not always visible, they are usually close by.
Five days of two-tank diving means ten boat dives across the week. The pace is deliberately unhurried. Complimentary shore diving is included, subject to on-the-ground conditions, for those who want to be in the water whenever the water calls.
Water temperature in February runs around 79°F, rising to 84°F through the warmer months. Visibility averages 60 to 100 feet. A shorty or 3mm is sufficient year-round. Currents across Dominica’s dive sites are generally mild to moderate and vary from site to site. The volcanic fumaroles are warm patches of rising water, unusual and worth seeking out, not a cause for concern.

Dominica Dive Trip FAQs
Is there a women-only option?
Yes. Week 1, February 13–20, 2027, is women only. Week 2, February 20–27, 2027, is open to all divers, including divers’ partners. Both weeks run the same complete package. Contact Nicole if you have questions about which week fits your needs best.
What level of certification do I need to join?
Both weeks are open to certified divers of all experience levels, from those with fewer than twenty dives to experienced divers who have been in the water for years. The pace is unhurried and the group is small. If there are questions about whether this trip is the right fit for a specific certification level or experience background, Nicole is the best person to ask before booking.
What exactly is included?
Seven nights accommodation at Fort Young Hotel and Dive Resort, daily breakfast, five days of two-tank morning boat dives, one whale watching tour, the land excursion to Trafalgar Falls and Titou Gorge, complimentary shore diving subject to conditions, marine park fees, roundtrip airport transfers, a Dive Somatics℠ pre-trip session, a private dive coaching or gear consultation with Nicole, a pre-trip group meeting, a Rise & Dive℠ trip T-shirt, and all taxes and resort fees. International flights, meals beyond breakfast, rental equipment, and gratuities are not included. Full inclusions and exclusions are listed above.
I experience some nervousness or anxiety during diving. Is this trip a good fit?
Dominica’s west coast sites run mild to moderate current, with good visibility and warm water year-round. The conditions are forgiving for divers who carry some anxiety into the water. The Dive Somatics℠ pre-trip session included in the package is also specifically designed to work with what a diver brings to the water, not around it. Nicole has worked with nervous divers throughout her career as a PADI Instructor and certified somatic practitioner. The small group size and unhurried pace mean no diver is left managing their experience alone or set by someone else’s clock.
What is Dive Somatics℠?
Dive Somatics℠ is a proprietary methodology developed by Nicole Harrison at the intersection of trauma-informed somatic practice, nervous system awareness, and the underwater environment. It is not an anxiety program; it is a body-based practice for any diver who wants a more conscious relationship with what they bring to the water and what the water gives back. A pre-trip Dive Somatics℠ online session with Nicole is included in this trip’s package for all participants.
Will Nicole be in the water with the group?
Nicole leads this trip on the ground from arrival to final dive. Her role as trip leader covers the full experience, from pre-trip preparation through to the last day. Specific in-water arrangements are discussed with participants ahead of the trip.
I do not have a roommate. Can I still book double occupancy?
Yes. Book double occupancy and Rise & Dive℠ will work to find a match before the trip. If a roommate cannot be confirmed, the single occupancy rate applies. Reach out to Nicole before booking if there are questions.
What airport should I fly into?
Douglas-Charles Airport, airport code DOM. Roundtrip transfers between DOM and the hotel are included in the package. Note that a new international airport is under construction in Dominica with an expected completion in 2027. Nicole will confirm transfer logistics with all participants ahead of the trip.
Is dive accident insurance required?
Yes. Dive accident insurance is required for all participants. DAN medical dive insurance is recommended. Trip insurance is separate and not required but strongly recommended. These are two different products — research both before booking.
How do I reserve a spot?
Contact Nicole directly to reserve a spot or to ask any questions before committing. A $500 deposit holds the place.
